About Our Firm

CWA has grown from our commitment to provide high quality accounting and related services for almost half a century. In 2022, Jerry and Sharon sold 180 Accounting, the firm they had owned and operated in Colorado for many years. It was a good time to move to the sunny, warm Florida beaches, and nearer to some of their children and grandchildren, but did not signal the end of their desire to be a vibrant part of the business community. CWA is a continuation of that legacy to meet the needs of the small business community, and to enhance the operations and profitability of our clients.

We do that by gaining a thorough understanding of their day-to-day financial information requirements. We work to ensure that the systems and procedures are first optimized for their business or organization. For many clients, we maintain those systems, providing any desired bookkeeping, accounting and financial management services.

Our Team

Jerry Lomax

Jerry holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from California State University Fullerton. He directs our client services and has been providing accounting, accounting system design and outsourced accounting/CFO services to a wide range of clients for over forty-five years.

After many years of owning and running a local CPA firm, and licensed as a CPA (Inactive), in both California and Colorado, Jerry now focuses his energies on providing the services most small businesses really need: day to day accounting, bookkeeping and overall financial management.

When not working at Charted Waters Accounting, Jerry enjoys spending time with Sharon, his lovely wife of 44 years, their children and grandchildren, and working on various other passions including studying the Bible, organic gardening, and woodworking (See workwithyourhands.org.)

Sharon Lomax

Sharon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Colorado Christian University and serves as the firm’s Communication Director. She enjoys people and works to create a fun, encouraging relationship with our clients and team. Possessing a high level of creativity, she also ensures that our marketing, brand, and mission are unified and consistent, reflecting our commitment to excellence, integrity, kindness, and respect in all our dealings.

Sharon enjoys spending time with her husband, Jerry, their five children and their families, including 14 (so far) grandchildren! She also loves God, friends, writing, singing, dancing, movies, swimming, living at the beach, and is passionate about encouraging Americans to put God first in their lives (See www.amerbless.com.)
